Racial Trauma

Many Black people and People of color in the US are at risk of Racial trauma due to living under a system of white supremacy.  Racial trauma, or race-based traumatic stress (RBTS), manifests due to the mental and emotional injury caused by encounters with racial bias, ethnic discrimination, racism, and hate crimes.  Any individual that has experienced an emotionally painful, sudden, and uncontrollable racist encounter is at risk of suffering from a race-based traumatic stress injury.

Racial trauma can have profound effects on mental well-being. I believe that there is not any one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to racial and generational trauma. I am committed to providing a safe, validating, and supportive space where you get to explore and heal from the effects of racial trauma that you have experienced.
